My ol' Kentucky Home

I admit, I miss Kentucky. This is how I roll: complain about a place until you leave and then love and miss it. The exceptions are Oregon and Holland I LOVED those places the first time I set foot in them. Ok I still HATE Provo and could care less if I ever set foot in Texas again. Ok, maybe that isn't how I roll, point is I miss Kentucky. And today I REALLY miss Kentucky. Don't get me wrong I totally LOVE sitting in the Layton Utah library searching job postings but today I should be at opening race day at:
I LOVE horse racing! It goes back 27 years, when my dream in life was to be a jockey and I swore I was going to race my Shetland pony in the Kentucky Derby (mind you that dream died at age 6 when I surpassed the height and weight requirments AND my pony was sold for dog food). Kentucky is BEAUTIFUL and having the opportunity to dress up, head to the track, watch all of the uber rich tail gate in their seer sucker suits, and sit with the poverty stricken who are getting sloshed on cheap beer and betting their rent money is a priceless experience. I also miss attending with many of my favorite people. Here is a picture that was taken 2 years ago...if only I could relive the moment today.
So Nancy, Trish, Shonda, Jen, Josh, Michelle, and all the rest of my fav. Kentucky peeps, place a 2 dollar bet on whatever horse is wearing purple or named after anything edible. Today I miss you twice as much as I do on every other day.

I love and miss you, too...which you know cuz I tell you like...everyday??? Come home....it is not too late!!!

So far in my life I've lived in... six states, and by far Lexington, KY is the greatest of them all. God bless Kentucky.

I love Kentucky and there is no day Kentucky is in my mind. At first I hated it, but then, you learn to love it. I'd love to go back...
